There was another tree in the midst of the Garden, also. The Tree of Life, which Adam and Eve had not tasted of its fruit. If they had, they would live forever.
The thing is, they had a choice. They chose knowledge over life. Had they not chose the Tree of Knowledge, and heeded God's warning, they would have lived a pure and innocent life. There would have been no wrong in the world, because they would trust in God wholly, not knowing any different, and blindly obeying.
Today, the world is in chaos as it pursues more knowledge. Knowledge has become a necessity. No one can survive without it. (Hosea 4:6 says, "My people perish for a lack of knowledge").
Yet, a chosen few seem to be living a life of bliss, as they willingly choose to Trust and Obey!
