1 corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
This is God's promise to us during a test of faith. God can not lie. Sometimes God will show us where our previous life as a sinner took us to remind us where we could be headed again.
Luke 11:24-26
24. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house when I came out.
25. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
26. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other Spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in, and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Replace Christ with no other. No other can deliver what He promised us.
