(Genesis 2:25) Innocence

Genesis 2:25
“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
When you don't know right from wrong, there are no rules. Everything is done with purity and innocence. That is why God judges the heart and it's intentions, as well as obedience. If, in your heart, He finds that you knew the law and disobeyed, then it doesn't matter what the intent was, you are judged harshly. However, if, in your heart, you honestly did not know you were breaking the law, God will judge you blameless. (Jeremiah 17:10)

(Genesis 2:22-24) Adam's Rib

Genesis 2
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
This does not mean that a man should forget about his parents, never have anything to do with them again and go to the woman's family and take up a new life. If that were so, Jesus would not be preparing a place for us at His Father's House.

It simply means that a man and his wife become "one". Where ever the man goes, the woman goes WITH him. Whatever the woman goes through, the man goes through it WITH her. Everything he chooses to experience, he must consider how it will effect his wife, and vice versa. It is a matter of INCLUSION, not a matter of choice.

(Genesis 2:18-21) Why God Created Woman

Genesis Chapter 2

18 And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

(Genesis 2: 16-17) - It's all for a purpose

Genesis 2
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
God did not tell man to not eat of the Tree of Life. He told him not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. If you don't know the difference between good an evil, you can't be held accountable, in God's eyes.

The Bible is filled with knowledge of the law. Once you KNOW the law, you are held accountable for keeping it.

Until we read the law, we look to society to teach us the difference between good and evil. None of us have grown up without someone who taught us to be who we have become -- good or evil.

God wanted man to remain innocent. When there are no rules to live by, man enjoys life abundantly. But, it was an oxymoron to give man a rule, because inevitably, man was going to break it. There is no line on this earth that man will not cross out of curiosity; and, as we continue reading the Bible, we will learn that there was a reason that this had to happen:

God created man to show all of His creation how much He loved them. He couldn't do that until man had a reason to need it.

(Genesis 2: 10-14) The Four Rivers

Genesis 2
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
One of the things we need to remember is that after the flood, a lot of the known world was displaced. We can assume where these rivers were located, but the truth is that much of the terrain on earth was totally changed after the flood.

(Genesis 2:9) The Two Trees

Genesis 2:9
“And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”
There were two trees in the middle of the garden that were special. One was the Tree of Life. The other was The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

If you could eat of any tree in the garden, including ONE of those two, which would YOU choose?

As we shall soon see, there is ONE of the two that God said was OFF-LIMITS.

Genesis 2:4-6 Atmosphere

Genesis 2
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.


The earth was completed. Man had not been created yet. Everything was perfect.

The earth watered itself from the mist that rose from the ground. The atmosphere supported life, not death. Man could live forever in this environment.

There was no sickness or disease. There was no violence or heartbreak. Everything was perfect. It was on earth as it was in heaven. And, the Spirit of God walked there.

Genesis 1: 26-27 Godly

Genesis 1
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
God created two versions of man: male and female. He created them in His own image.

It is true that even identical twins are different. Every human being has certain features about him or her that make her different than anyone else on earth. Life circumstances (weather, stress, scars, even your personality shapes your physical features over time. This is how we tell each other apart. But, there is always someone who says, "You look just like your mom (or dad)!", which, though you may favor them -- due to the DNA that was contributed to your gene pool -- you do NOT look JUST LIKE THEM.

In the same way, you were created in the image of God. You may not look exactly like God, but you were created to shine like Him. You were created to love like Him. You were created to be productive and creative. You were created to endure. You were created to be righteous! You were created to be godly! There is nothing on this earth that we could not do if we set our mind to it if we maintain our "godliness". This does not mean we are a God. It means that we are God's.

Finally, God ALSO created us to rule over the earth and all that is in it. We were to "have dominion" over everything. There is not an animal or plant on this earth that we cannot use for something. God does not make anything that is useless, including YOU.

Genesis 1: 20-23 Be Fruitful and Multiply

Genesis 1
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
On the fifth day, God created the fish and all the creatures of the water, and the birds and all the creatures of the air. He commanded them, as He commands all of His creation, to be "fruitful and multiply!"

He wanted His creation to fill the whole world.

But, there is another aspect to this command.

Did you ever stop to consider what would happen once the whole world was filled? Has God ever rescinded that command? When the world is populated abundantly, is over-population going to be an issue?

I believe that God is God. He makes room for everyone. I don't believe, at the time, that over-population would have EVER been an issue, had Adam not made the fall.

Now it is a test of faith. Do we continue to "be fruitful and multiply"? I say, yes. God has never rescinded His command. He never changes His mind. He is the same yesterday, today, and always. And, He uses man's mistakes to complete His perfect Will!

Genesis 1:8 The Firmament of Heaven

Genesis 1:8
“And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”
I found a lesson on Genesis 1:6-8 here that you might want to read.

Genesis 1:7 And, it was so.

Genesis 1:7
“And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.”

When God speaks, the universe listens and obeys. So, if God says it, I believe it, that settles it. God told the firmament to divide and it did. Under the water, man cannot breath. In space, man cannot breathe. In the space between, man thrives.

You could say that God created boundaries at this point that we cannot, in our raw form, cross. What God does, He does as an example for us to follow. We must set boundaries in our life that separates us from that which will destroy our lives. It's okay to say no, if it means we are better off for having said it.

And, we must always remember that what God proclaims, what God ordains, and what God commands always comes to pass. So, if God says we should not fear, and that He would be with us, then our lives should be lived in fearless faith.

Genesis 1:4 Light is Good

Genesis 1:4
“And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.”

When God saw the light was good, He separated it from the darkness.

In Matthew 5:4, Jesus says that we are the "light of the world." If we are the "light of the world", and God sees that the light is good, then it stands to reason that He would choose to separate us from the darkness. God created us, then called us to be His children.

1 Thessalonians 5:5 says that we are all children of the light. If we are in the dark, it is because WE choose to be so.

John 3:19
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
God will not do for us what we do not wish Him to do for us.

If you are in a dark place in your life, then ask that God intervene. Until you do, He, being a just and loving God, will give you what you obviously want.

Genesis 1:31: God Called You "Good"

Genesis 1:31 -- And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

You've heard the old saying, (or seen the T-shirt) that says, "God don't make no junk." Indeed, everything God creates is good. Everything alive in the world has a purpose, as well as everything that is inanimate. So, the next time you feel like beating yourself up with words like, "I'm no good", better think again. God called you "good" on the day He created Adam.

That's right. God is infinite. He is the God of all time and space. He knew, on the day He created Adam, that one day YOU would walk this earth. God looked, not only at His creation, but everything that His creation would produce. God called you "good", just like Jesus died for YOUR sins on that cross, God knew you before you were conceived.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)

So, if God calls you "good", don't you think you should live a life of goodness?

Genesis 1:29 -- God Provides

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. - Genesis 1:29

In order for God to give us anything, it has to belong to Him. God is God of the whole earth. Indeed, The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein (Psalm 24:1). Therefore, anything you obtain in this life is a gift from God.

In the beginning, man had no reason to covet his neighbor's belongings. There was one human being, and God had given him the whole world. Today, you are one human being in a world FULL of human beings. But, God has still given you the whole world. What you do with it determines whether you are in God's will, or your own.

On your own, left to your own devices, God will withdraw Himself from your life so that you can see that life without Him is chaotic to your heart, your mind, and your spirit. (Psalm 81:12-16) But, if you trust in Him, and make Him Lord of your life, He will provide all you need to glorify Him with -- including food, clothing and shelter. You have no reason whatsoever to have stress in your life!

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? (Matthew 6:25-30)


So, REJOICE! Be glad! For God is God, and He loves you!

Genesis 1:28 - Using the Golden Rule to Dominate

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. - Genesis 1:28

God gave man dominion over the earth. He made men the gods of this world -- not to abuse it, but to use it. The earth brings forth everything that man needs to create and be the men of God that He created them to be.

In the animal kingdom, when animals are wild and have not known mankind, they are dangerous to men. Once they get to know man and what he provides for them, they see him as a god. They treat man with reverence and loyalty. But in order to get this loyalty, man has to remain consistent and loving.

We also have to remain consistent and loving to our offspring, and to others who may depend on us for their needs.

A good rule of thumb is to always treat others as you want to be treated; not as they have treated you, or as they might treat you, but as you want to be treated by them.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. -- Matthew 7:12

Genesis 1:27 -- Possibility Abounds

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. -- Genesis 1:27

God created man. Man is finite. God is infinite. Man only has the bounds that God set for him in His creation; but what man creates can sometimes overpower mankind because even his creation has bounds that God sets, not man. Man has no power to set boundaries in creativity. If he did, then God couldn't make anything possible for him.

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. -- Mark 9:23

But you have to believe. You have to believe that God is all-powerful, almighty, all-knowing, and all-loving. He wants to give you everything that is His, but you have to prove that you are worthy of His trust. The only way you can do that is to place all of your own trust in Him.

Genesis 1:26 - God to the gods

God made man in His image, not to BE Him, but to be LIKE Him. This means that you have all the feelings, wants, needs and desires that He has, and you have the power to create and to love your creation.

In a way, this makes you a god on earth. You will never BE God, because you can only create with what He gives you to create with. He is the only One who can make something out of nothing. But, if you utilize your faith in HIM, and you ask HIM for anything you want, need or desire to create, nothing is impossible to you.

God also gives you the power to destroy, with a mind that helps you decide what you should keep or what you should destroy. This is a power that needs to be used very wisely.

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; (John 10:34,35)

So, as gods under the authority of the ONE almighty God, it is up to you to create or destroy your life as you see fit. Which one will you choose?

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. -- John 10:10

Genesis 1:25 -- Testimony of Faith

And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. -- Genesis 1:25

Everything God does is good. He does nothing bad. Everything God does, He does for a reason: to be fruitful; to multiply; to fill the earth with His goodness.

Because God gives us free will, if bad things happen to us, it isn't because God is bad or because He did something bad, it is because we did. When bad things happen, therefore, we must work to make it good again. We must learn from our mistakes, repent of our sin that led us to that point, and move forward with faith that God will give us a great testimony to share through that experience.

Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him. -- Ecclesiastes 8:6

Genesis 1:24 -- Stay Positive!

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. -- Genesis 1:24

God made all the living creatures, and gave them the ability to make more of their own kind. A dog will have more dogs, and a cat will have kittens.

The same can be said about the fruits of our life: Good thoughts brings goodness, whereas sinful thoughts bring about more sin. God doesn't want us to be negative because He doesn't want us to have negative things in our life; because once the negativity is there, it takes a while for the positivity to wear it down.

This is why it is important for us to have faith. Jesus said,

...for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. -- Matthew 17:20

If you can believe that what He says is true, then you can believe that He wants you to have good things in your life. So, believe! Believe that God is capable of anything, and anything is possible with Him!

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him -- Hebrews 11:6

Genesis 1:23 -- Each Day Has a Purpose

And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. -- Genesis 1:23

Each day, God gives new commands. Each day, God has a new gift to give the world. Each day, God wants to find someone who is grateful, who is praising Him for what He does. If you are thankful for what God does, and humbled each time He does small things for you, God has a plan for you. He has a job for you, and He wants you to be rewarded for your effort on His behalf.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: -- 1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourself before God. Let Him love you and show you how much He appreciates you with praises to him and thanksgiving. The results will be overpowering!
