11The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
No one knows exactly where the Garden of Eden was located. But, we can assume is was somewhere near Israel.
I doubt God would call it "the promised land" if that is not where the Garden was originally intended to be.
We can also assume that the Garden was a whole lot bigger than Israel itself, covering Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Today, much of that land is desert. It was not always so. One day, it will bloom again. It has already started in Israel.
God will make the desert bloom in our own lives, leading us to the promised land of abundance and hope, if we only follow His laws and be obedient.
