Benjamin Netanyahu, recently re-elected to lead Israel as Prime Minister, is reported to have stated afterwards, "I am honored that Israel imposed a responsibility on my shoulders and appreciates the decision of Israel to pick me and my friends against all odds and against the big boys.
I will do everything I can to see to their welfare and well-being of all citizens of Israel."
Against all odds. God has placed Netanyahu where he is because Netanyahu serves HIS purpose. We must never forget that God is in control. He will not see Israel fall with the whole world praying to keep her strong.
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Yes. Even those who are opposed. Why?
Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Which is why we should:
Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
And finally, we should keep in mind that, as Paul puts it:
Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
